I recently traveled to Boston, MA for the 2015 COPRI joint conference on coastal structures and solutions to coastal disasters. This was a fantastic meeting. It was well organized and the sessions were filled with excellent presentations. Plus, the conference location in Boston’s Back Bay area made it convenient to a lot of good local sightseeing and food… like lobster rolls!
Our research group provided two oral presentations and one poster presentation. The presentations were well-received and the audience provided some helpful feedback and ideas for future work. Two of the presentations were focused on living shorelines and the other on development of a coupled 2D model of hydrodynamics and sediment transport for Little Lagoon in Gulf Shores, AL. The two presentations on living shorelines will have full papers published in the conference proceedings, which will be released as an e-book by ASCE COPRI some time in the spring of 2016. Check the research site for more information in the coming months (tag: conference).
